In this Skin

In This Skin reconciles familiarity and alien through archiving experience, lessons and history. It chronicles the futility in the reclamation of the past: the hindering confrontations and the successes that come with the process. In This Skin is a series of paintings that struggles to define acclimation and what fits - through color, line, and space. The imagery is fragmented, reflective, appealing and aggressive; there is movement and migration. These manufactured environments enables recognizable and abstract hybrids to act as ideas of identity. The build-up of layers of lines in the surface of these works suggests the ever-changing landscape of inclusion and the definition of acceptance.
